This was our first year participating in Winterfest. The temperatures were mild on Sunday afternoon which made for a very enjoyable time. Noah LOVED the mazes and I thought for sure we would never get out at one point. Greg took the kids down the ice slide while I stayed at the bottom talking with Normy (who was volunteering at the winter festival). The kids could not get enough of the ice slide and I think Greg may have enjoyed it just as much. Kya got the last ride of the day on the pony. Most of last evening she was running around saying "Giddy Up Horsey!"

Ice Storm
This winter has been one crazy storm after another. Last week we had an incredible ice storm come through town and it made for some beautiful pictures. We were one of the lucky few that did not loose our power. We have quite a few trees in our back yard and two of those are birch trees (we hang our hammock from them in the summer) Before heading to bed Wednesday night Greg noticed how different they looked. They were bent over and touching the ground. There is a picture looking out our bathroom window, and normally we cannot see trees from that window. We were getting nervous that we were going to lose them because of the cold temperatures but after a rainy +10 degrees today they seem to have sprung back to life.

Officer's Square
We took the kiddies to Officer's Square last Saturday evening for some outdoor skating. It was a real mild evening and while everyone else was out enjoying the ECMA's we were playing on the ice. Kya's skates broke immediately but she had a ball running around with her boots. The ice was great because it wasn't very slippery unless you had skates on - it was perfect for beginners.

More Skiing Pictures
Noah seems to be taking a real interest in skiing. Greg is so proud. Every Saturday they come home and Greg is amazed at how well Noah is doing. We have had a great winter for skiing and the boys are definately taking advantage of it. Kya is feeling a little left out so we are taking her up to the hill next weekend for her first time on the skiis.
