Yogi Bear

We finally made it to Yogi Bear for a camping trip. It took lots of convincing for us parents to go, but we eventually realized it was for the kids. It turned out to be a lot of fun and a gorgeous weekend, and most importantly, the kids loved it!

Mactaquac Camping

Of all the camping spots we have visited, our trips to Mactaquac are always awesome. You can count on a trip to Mactaquac to be perfect and complete with tons of friends at the park.

Halifax - May Long Weekend

Camping in Halifax. These go-cards were a hit!!

On the May long weekend we hauled the camper to Halifax so that I could partipcate in the Bluenose Half Marathon. It was a great event, with lots of runners and support cheering you along the route. We don't have many pictures since Greg had to entertain three unhappy children on a cold damp morning. The top marathon runner came in about 2 minutes before me
so in all of the excitment Greg didn't see me cross the finish line. It blows my mind that someone ran 42K in 2.35 hours. I did 21.1 in 2:03. He was fast!

Briana

New Earrings

Kya had her ears pierced when she was 3 and it was not a pleasant experience. One earring became embedded in her ear and we had to take them out and let them grow over. She has been asking to try it again and we caved and let her get them pierced again. She has been taking such good care of them and loves them. Only four more weeks until she can change the earrings.

1K Kids Race

A 1K and 3K event were scheduled for kids as part of the Fredericton Marathon. I asked Noah if he would like to run with me and he was very excited to give it a try. At the last minute, Kya decided she wanted to run as well. I thought 3K would be too far so we all decided to do the 1K race. They loved getting a medal at the finish line.

First Half

Well, Holly has done it! She has complete her first half marathon and we couldn't be more proud of her! She has been training for almost a year and has come so far. She participated in the Fredericton Marathon 2011 as training race for her upcoming Halifax Marathon (participating in the Half). She was supposed to take it easy for her first and was coached to go slow. However her competitive side got the best of her and she managed to get an amazing time of 2:03:39!! We are so proud of you Holly and cant wait to cheer you on during your next half marathon! You rule!

Monkey Bars

Kya has been trying all winter to master the monkey bars at her school playground. Here are some photos of her practicing at home. She is now a pro. When she gets to the playground, she will ask if we want her to go forward, backward, skip a bar, top bar or bottom bar.

So Much Snow!

We have had so much snow this year that the kids could easily climb the tree in our front yard.

Daddy Duty

Sunday mornings I meet my running group for a run. Noah had a sleepover at a friends house a few weeks ago so Greg had some quality time with the girls. This is what I came home to, the girls were decked out in jewels and tatoos.

Mactaquac

We spent an afternoon in Mactaquac a few weeks ago with the Harveys. It was a fun filled afternoon of sliding, hot chocolate in the lodge followed by some outdoor skating. Such a great park to take advantage of during the winter.

Hockey

We had a rough start to hockey season this year. Noah was not having very much fun. He showed some interest around Christmas in playing nets. (Greg played in nets as a kid as well) The high point of the season was during a recent tournament when he got player of the game. He was so excited and we were so proud!

Winter Fest

Greg hung the camera from a tree to try to capture a family shot.

Here are a few pictures of us out enjoying the snow. This is the first winter that Noah and Kya both really enjoy snow shoeing. Hopefully we'll get out some more before winter is done.
