I know I'm a bit late in updating this blog but its better late than never right? During the Labour Day weekend we went to Skiff Lake with the Slipps and the Deans. Pete's family has a great cottage there and although its small it is always a good time when we visit. The kids can play in the water and it is so shallow so they can wonder out and the water doesn't even reach their knees. The weather was beautiful, but the ladies missed the best day because we headed to the U.S of A to buy some hand soap (yup 4 hours in the states and all we bought was handsoap)
It was a great time and I hope we make it an annual event. Next year Ava will be running around chasing the older kids.

Cottage on the Tobique River
We were lucky enough to enjoy a weekend in Aurthurette at Lisa's cottage this summer. Although we have been there many times, this was Greg's first visit during the summer months. We had a wonderful time, the kids fought like siblings and made up just as quick. The highlight of the trip was hanging out on their pontoon boat and Noah caught his first fish. Every time he would through his line in the water he would catch one. They were small but who cares, he had a blast!

August Update
Is it August 21st already? It is starting to feel like fall outside and although fall is my favorite month, I'm not quite ready to say farewell to summer. Here are some recent photos of the past month.
We decided to take the kids for a canoe trip along the Nashwaksis Stream. Since it was their first time out we wanted something short and simple. Kya loved it but Noah was a little nervous. He said he was scared that we were going to go down a waterfall.
This past weekend was the final soccer game. It was great meeting up with the other soccer moms but I'm so glad its over for another year.
This past weekend we went to Jeremy and Daphne's wedding. We had a great time and a huge grateful thank you to my mom for taking the kids for the night. It was the first time in over 4 years that Greg and I had a whole night out. It was so nice not to awaken to the pitter patter of little feet asking for breakfast at 6am. Most mornings its great but not when your hung over.

Weekend Fun
Last night we stopped by Greg's parents house for a quick visit. As we were leaving the kids thought it would be fun to quickly run through the sprinkler. A good half hour later this is what they looked like.

And this is my new favorite shot of the kids taken at Mom's Saturday night. Thanks Carrie.

Kouchibuguac National Park
Last week Greg and I took a few days off work and packed up the car to go camping. We went to Kouchibuguac for a couple of nights and had a wonderful time. We couldn't have asked for better weather. The only negative was the beach was littered with jellyfish so we couldn't really do any swimming. Which is a shame because the water was so warm. But we played on the beach and made the most of it.
We did a few hikes and went for some beautiful bike rides. Here are a few photos of the trip.

Summer '07
I apologize for being so slack on this blog recently. It has been a crazy busy month. Trying to have a life as well as working full time is really hard. I don't know how people manage it so easily.
I'll try to give an update as best as I can. I went away to PEI for a girls weekend in June. It was for Glenda's stagette and we had a great time. We did lots of shopping and hanging out on the beach and even drank a few beer :) It was the first time that Kya was left home with Dad. They had such a good time I don't think anybody even realized I was gone.
Then Greg went away to the Mirimichi on a fishing trip with a few of his friends. They didn't catch any salmon but had a lot of fun trying.
For Canada Day we went to Grand Manan Island with the Slipps. We went last year as well and decided to make it an annual event. We even got to see a whale from our campsite. Very very cool.
This past week I've been really busy with a conference at work but it is now over and I am going to enjoy the next 5 days with my family for all the overtime I put in. We are heading to Kouchibiquac for a weekend of camping.
That about brings you all up to date - I'll post more up to date pictures soon.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Mom/Grammie! Today she turns the big 5-0. We wish we could celebrate today with you but it'll have to wait until you are back in Fredericton in a few short weeks. We love you and can't wait to have you in our city. We hope you have a wonderful day and get spoiled like you deserve.
