Skating

We took the kids to the new Willie O'Ree arena this past weekend. The place was packed! It was Kya's first time on skates and my first time since junior high I think. We had a great time and hope to do it more often.

Ski School

Noah started ski school this month at Crabbe Mountain. Greg takes him every Saturday and drops him off with his class and he gets to enjoy a bit of skiing as well. Noah is doing great! Each week he has been bumbed up to the next class. Greg said that he has learned more during his first lesson then he has the three winters that Greg has taken him skiing. I'm hoping to go watch my ski bum in training this weekend.

Heading Home

This is what the kids looked like during the sliding and on the way home after a long morning of fresh air.

NYE on the Tobique

We decided to make the trek to Lisa's parents cottage for New Year's Eve. We always have a great time no matter what time of year we decide to go. The kids had a great time sliding and Brandon brought his snowmobile and a caboose for the kids to ride in. They had a ball. We had lots of great food and there was another couple there with their two kids (one was a 2 week old baby boy) and Lisa's cousin came over with his 2 kids and a guest. After a long evening of sliding they decided to watch the polor express.

Christmas

I was so surprised that the kids actually slept in until 8am on Christmas morning. We woke up and I went downstairs to make sure that Santa had arrived (and get the camera ready) We got some cute video clips of Noah so excited when he came down and saw all of the presents and that Santa ate all of his milk and cookies. We had a great day and after cinnamon buns and baileys and coffee we headed to Moms to see them and had a quick lunch then came home for naps and off to Greg's parents for more presents and an awesome turkey dinner. Thanks to everyone for all of the great gifts - we were spoiled rotten once again.

Christmas Crafts and Christmas Eve

Here are a few pictures of Carrie doing some crafts with the kids. She is an artist and loves to do crafts with them and she has so much patience. She will make a great teacher.
Noah, Carter and Kya exchanged their gifts on CHristmas Eve. Noah is lovin' his superman outfit. Superheros were definately the theme of this Christmas!

Christmas Concert

The YMCA put on a great Christmas concert for us parents. Noah had been practising his songs for about a month but if we walked in on him singing he would quickly stop and grin at us. It was supposed to be a surprise for us. It was so cute - too bad Kya was feeling a little down in the dumps.

Brother and Sister

O Christmas Tree

Decorating the tree was quite fun this year. Noah was excited to go through the ornaments and asked about the significance of each one. They were a great help but most of the decorations ended up on the bottom part of the tree. I had to be very sneaky when rearranging them :)

Christmas Tree Cutting

Last weekend we went with Gramma and Grampa to cut down our Christmas tree. It was a beautiful day when we left Fredericton but by the time we got to Stanley, it got quite cold but we had alot of fun anyway. After choosing our trees, we went into the owner's cabin for cookies and hot chocolate and kept warm by the wood stove. It was a great day.

Christmas Photos

We took the kids to Sears for the Christmas photos this year. They kept messing up our order so we got all of our pictures for free. We also have this picture in color which is very cute. I just happened to bring this one into work today and thought I should add it to the blog.

Playtime

Noah and Kya are finally starting to play in the playroom again. They didn't enjoy playing in the basement for the longest time but seem to be coming around again. Kya is fixing the wall with Noah's tools and Noah is playing with his geotrax. This train set has been one of his favorite toys for over 2 years now. I'd say that's a good investment.
Yup - those are panties that Kya is wearing. She is now potty trained and is doing great with it. We still put a diaper on her during naps and night but she is waking up dry. She mastered this skill in under 3 weeks. Way to go girl!

Sleeping Beauties

Some of you may not believe me when I talk about Kya turning into a little diva. I think these pictures may prove my point. Last night she refused to go to sleep without wearing her sunglasses to bed. I tried to take them off after story time and she put up a fight so I thought I may as well go along with it. After taking these pictures as evidence I removed the glasses and put them on her bedside table. At about 4am this morning I heard her wake up over the monitor and crawl out of bed. This is a regular occurance in our house so I didn't think much of it until when I looked up and she walked into our room she had the glasses on again. I had to wake Greg up because it was so funny.
Noah was such an easy toddler that I am finding the "two's" way more challenging this time around. I don't know if it's a girl/boy thing or just the difference in their personality. Either way its fun and challenging and I wouldn't change a thing :)
