Kya was baptised on July 14th. We had a very small informal gathering to celebrate the affair.

Ceremony
When we starting to talk about who we could ask to be Kya's godparents there was no real choice. We knew from the start that we were going to ask Pete and Tracey. We wanted someone who would always be in Kya's life and we know that they will be. Thanks again guys - Kya is incredibly lucky to have you.
Friends
These three got along wonderfully. Ava seemed quite enchanted with Noah. I think she has a crush!
Waiting for the Ferry
We are waiting for the ferry here for Grand Manan - we were there in t ime for the 11:30 ferry but because the boat was so small they could only fit a certain number of people on it so we had to wait for two hours for the bigger boat to arrive. Oh well - fun times!

Summer '07
I apologize for being so slack on this blog recently. It has been a crazy busy month. Trying to have a life as well as working full time is really hard. I don't know how people manage it so easily.
I'll try to give an update as best as I can. I went away to PEI for a girls weekend in June. It was for Glenda's stagette and we had a great time. We did lots of shopping and hanging out on the beach and even drank a few beer :) It was the first time that Kya was left home with Dad. They had such a good time I don't think anybody even realized I was gone.
Then Greg went away to the Mirimichi on a fishing trip with a few of his friends. They didn't catch any salmon but had a lot of fun trying.
For Canada Day we went to Grand Manan Island with the Slipps. We went last year as well and decided to make it an annual event. We even got to see a whale from our campsite. Very very cool.
This past week I've been really busy with a conference at work but it is now over and I am going to enjoy the next 5 days with my family for all the overtime I put in. We are heading to Kouchibiquac for a weekend of camping.

Boys Fishing Weekend
Greg had the opportunity to go fishing a few weekends ago with a few of the boys. From what I hear it was a beautiful spot and I know he had a great time.

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday Mom/Grammie! Today she turns the big 5-0. We wish we could celebrate today with you but it'll have to wait until you are back in Fredericton in a few short weeks. We love you and can't wait to have you in our city. We hope you have a wonderful day and get spoiled like you deserve.

Greg and Kya in Quebec City
This playground was located at the entrance to Old Quebec. We had to run around and play after a huge breakfast of crepes.
Kya
Our girl in Montreal right before she got sick. We had an awesome hotel room at the Mariott right downtown. We were two blocks from Saint Catherine's Street so needless to say we did alot of walking around. I can't wait to go back to Montreal and enjoy the city for more than two days.
Hammy and Noah
Noah had a ball at Uncle Hammy's house watering his flowers, trees and whatever else he could find. That and watching Robots on the projector were the highlights of the visit for Noah.
Kya
Kya is so sick in this picture but she still looks adorable. I love this dress on her. Kya was the flower girl and Noah the ring bearer in the wedding. I had to carry her down the aisle.
Noah
Here is our handsome little man all dressed up in his tuxedo. The wedding was at Upper Canada Village which is very similar to Kings Landing. The grounds were beautiful.

Vacation
Thank goodness that vacation is over! After a night in Quebec City, two nights in Montreal - where I think I may have had the worse hangover of my life after my sisters stagette, we headed to Peterborough to visit Uncle Hammy. Both kids got the flu while we were there. Thankfully Noah was only sick for one night but Kya couldn't keep anything down for 4 days. We had two trips to the emergency room and both doctors said that she wasn't showing signs of dehydration and this flu had to run its course. On our way home in Quebec City, the doctor gave her a shot of gravol to settle her stomach and help her sleep so that we could get home. But the flu won out again and we had to stop for the night in Edmunston. She is doing much better now, thank goodness. A huge thanks to Hammy for letting us use his washing machine and infect the entire house.
I stole a few pictures off of Carries facebook - hope you don't mind - of the big wedding - which is the reason why we had a vacation. I will get a picture of the bride and groom up soon. Both of our kids looked adorable. Apparently Noah was a star on the dance floor after Kya and I headed back to our hotel. Amanda looked beautiful and the ceremony was short and sweet. Congrats guys and I hope your having a great start to your new life in Jamaica.

Backyard Fun
We are so happy that spring has finally arrived. We have been enjoying our yard. Mom and Art got this Jeep for Noah last fall and he loves it. He picks up Kya and they go for a drive around the yard after telling me that they are going on a road trip. The other day he even drove it to the park. It was very cute but I fear he may get lazy :)
Pete and Greg
A few weeks ago Pete and Greg paddled the Big Presque Isle River. The locals predicted that they were going to go for a swim but the boys proved them wrong.

Baba
I love pictures that are taken from behind. Especially of children. Here is one of Greg's dad, myself and the kids. It was taken leaving Boston Pizza on Noah's birthday. When Noah was a baby he couldn't say "Grandpa" so he called Barry "Baba" but it never stuck. Now Kya is calling him "Baba". It is too cute.

Kya and her new baby
Aunt Amanda sent Kya her first Cabbage Patch Doll for an Easter gift. She loves it. Her name is Tanya Tiffany (I think we'll stick to calling her baby).
This is the first time Kya has even taken a soother. Not that we didn't try when she was a baby, she just refused it.

Birthday Cake
Noah had his 4th birthday party this past weekend. It was a lot of fun and I think everybody had a good time. It was nice to see everybody and catch up. With me working now its hard to make play dates.

Easter
We had a low key Easter weekend. We all had a bit of a stomach bug that made us feel not quite ourselves. Greg and Noah got out for a few long walks but the girls stayed in and napped on those days. We did manage a pizza party with Gramma and Grampa and a swim at the Nashwaksis pool. Easter morning was fun with the kids and their egg hunt.

Tomorrow is our boy's 4th birthday. I was in labor at this time 4 years ago. We thought for sure he was going to be born on the 10th but I guess Noah didn't want to share his birthday with godfather.

Kya Easter Morning
Here's our little princess on Easter morning. This was after they found all the chocolate eggs. As you can see Kya isn't letting anybody near her basket of goodies. The easter bunny also brought her a new bicycle helmet and brought Noah a fishing rod.
Painted Eggs
This was the first year that we painted eggs. Kya broke a few but it was all in good fun. The most amusing part of the whole event was watching Greg blow the egg out from the shell. This from the guy who is grossed out by eggs.

Daddy's Girl
It takes Greg forever these days to get the driveway shoveled. The kids love to be out there with him playing in the snow. They have a great time but Greg is excited for next year when we will have a snow blower.
Kya and her horse
Art made this rocking horse for Noah when he was this age. He loved it and now Kya loves it. It is so cute to see them get on together.
Crabbe Mountain
Greg and Noah have been up to Crabbe Mountain 4 or 5 times this winter. Noah is doing great. They have been spending lots of time on the Family Run practicing the snowplow. We got a harness to attach to Noah and it makes it a bit more enjoyable for Greg as well.
